Is certification what
we want for our Gypsy Horses? |
Blarney Stone
Acre's Gypsy Horses wishes to maintain the strong integrity of the
rare Gypsy Horse breed, also known as Gypsy Cob, Gypsy Vanner, the
Romani horse, and the Tinker. Blarney Stone Acre's Gypsy Horses
recognizes an inspection program for this horse breed assists in
maintaining its integrity when administered by qualified persons
trained in the appropriate discipline and independent of affiliated
registries, associations, and/or societies.
Blarney Stone Acre's Gypsy Horses opposes, adamantly, the current
efforts of private individuals to create and sale a subjective
certification program of the Gypsy Horse. Blarney Stone Acre's Gypsy
Horses will not endorse a certification program that entails a loss
of control of the breeding process while undermining the current
inspection practices accepted by the gypsy horse community. A
certification program that diminishes the gene pool of this rare
horse breed is not acceptable to Blarney Stone Acre's Gypsy Horses,
especially if the certification process is governed by an individual
for monetary gain exercising dominion over various matters unrelated
to the integrity of a particular horse, including its owner's web
site activity and registry choice.
