West Milford, N.J. - October 11, 2005 - Blarney Stone Acres, a breeder of
high-quality Gypsy horses witnesses the successful sell-out of their famous
Gypsy horse, Merrow. The Gypsy horses at Blarney Stone Acres are purchased from
a private family in England. Having bred these Gypsy horses for generations,
they maintain the lineage of the Gypsy horse. The manageability of these Gypsy
horses, as well as the way they stand out from other breeds, is a large part of
Blarney Stone Acre's popularity and success. Merrow was one of the prominent
Gypsy horses donated by Blarney Stone Acres to Lash's Lessons at the Shirecrest
Equine Education Center Inc. in Kentucky in 2004. The Gypsy horse was named
after the water fairies described in Irish folklore. The colt's majestic
features and endearing temperament made him a prime selection for both Lash's
Lessons and as a subject for noted sculptor Peter Stone.
The Lash's Lessons program at the Shirecrest Equine Education Center Inc., was
developed By Jacki Clark, the Center's Co-Founder and Executive Director. The
program's goal is to educate children by using fun and interesting ways to
relate to them. Named for Lash, the first Gypsy horse born in North America, the
program accepted Merrow, whose playful nature embodied the spirit of Lash's
Lessons.
Commemorated forever in molded plastic and exquisite hand-painted detail, Merrow
was released by Stone Horses as a limited-edition tribute to the majestic Gypsy
horse. Having produced only 30 of these pieces, the sculpture has since sold
out. Started in 1996, the company has supplied collectors and equine enthusiasts
with a large variety of models based on actual horses, boasting the claim "As
real as the Gypsy horses themselves."
Blarney Stone Acres breeds the best true Gypsy horses, offering traceable
documentation to prove the authenticity and quality of each Gypsy horse. To
